Crooked Tree Town

Today I revisit an old twist, a birding safari in Crooked Tree Village during my time in Belize. The highlights include wetland trails, a cornucopia of birds on every branch of crooked tree, and peaceful waters with weathered fishing boats abandoned on the weedy shore. I could have spent several days capturing the town’s rustic charm, but I only had one.

My time was short in Crooked Tree but long on tranquility. I took the low road, hunting without ammunition for fur and fowl. It was a feast for the soul.

Soon, I’ll take the sky-high road leading to our next adventure: Costa Rica in 2023. Whoop-pee!

  1. Hello Sharon,
Beautiful Belize Birds. The Vermilion Flycatcher is gorgeous. I was happy to see it while visiting Belize too.
Great collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great new week. I wish you all the best in 2023, a happy and healthy New Year!

  2. Wonderful images of the Vermillion Flycatcher. I saw a few in Florida but never got very close. I studied Tropical Medicine in Central America, visiting every country except for “British Honduras” as it was known oh so long ago. Loved Costa Rica especially..

  3. Happy New Year, Sharon! I love all your photos. I hope you are having a wonderful time in Costa Rica. It must be so lovely to escape the cold and snow for a while. We have been busy shoveling snowstorm after snowstorm since New Year’s day, but in a positive outlook is that it is better than wildfire drought risk.
