Day 10
Paradise fail; we ran over an iguana. Tears. On the ride home, the creature was gone. Most likely, the beast was eaten by vultures or scooped up for a brave Tico lunch. In ill-fated avian news, a bird flew into our rental. That was a heart-palpitating surprise. When the bird tired, we wrangled it into a plastic strainer with a magazine wedged over the top and performed a release ceremony. But not the kind of release revealed in the book: THE GIVER. The bird was very much alive. Earlier in the trip, this technique had already proved effective with a giant moth. đ
But in other news, paradise wins! The tide pools were tepid and refreshing, the fishermen reeled in record numbers of sunset-colored snapper, and the beach was the perfect mix of soft slushiness yet firm and flat for bare feet.

Hello,
So sorry about the iguana in the road. Cute kitty and the dog looks happy to have found a shady spot.
Beautiful sky and I love the beach images. Life is good. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post.
Take care, have a wonderful week!
I came over to your blog from Pat in Colorado to see your beautiful photos. Photography was my hobby for years and travelling too but now that I’m old I don’t do much of either.
Sorry about the Iguana
Love the shot of the beach through the frame of drift wood.
Your photos are amazing, Sharon!
So sorry about the iguana on the road.
I absolutely love the colorful currency.
So sorry about the iguana mishap. The thoughts of a puppy I ran over a decade back still haunt me.
The howler and his nether region is the winner today LOL.
…day 15 is fabulous.
Hi Sharon — just wanted to thank you for stopping by Marmelade Gypsy and fell in love with your fabulous photography. What a wonderful trip –I love all the details you shared with us!

The dog is a cutie.
Greetings Irma
I like the look of that money! Sorry to hear about the iguana. I’m guessing that’s not an unusual occurance.
sorry about the iguana. I held one for a photo op once long, long ago in Mexico. Yesterday I came across a dead rat in my path in a shopping area. I’m not sure if I felt any sympathy for it since they seem to over run the cities these days. I love all your gorgeous scenic photos. I’m wondering if this is where you live or if it’s a holiday.
The first photograph made me smile, want an ice tea and pretzels. I liked that photograph of the sand dollar on top of those pebbles in the sea was awesome. Monkeys, dogs, cats, funny colored money make this an enticing place to visit. Sorry about the iguana.
