Mayday on the Great Lakes! There’s been a curious number of breaches, groundings, and fires with ships plying Lake Superior and the Duluth harbor. But luckily, we didn’t see any mishaps during our stay. It’s always fun to see the ships come and go under the iconic lift bridge or drift into the horizon to parts unknown. I love this hazy purple sunrise shot taken from our hotel room, with two sleeping ships floating beyond the harbor. Here’s my brief camera footage from the fourth weekend. Follow my lens…
This lighthouse is in Superior, Wisconsin.
A cedar waxwing profile.
Next stop parts unknown.
A book blurb with a view of Lake Superior!
Great views of the lake and the ships.
The lighthouse is a favorite.
Love the Sparrow and the Waxwing.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post.
Take care, have a wonderful week!
I am curious where you were to get the images of the light house and ships? I have not been to Wisc. It was when I went to Chicago and was able to take a water tour on Lake Michigan and was able to see the light house. We did not see any big ships though. Your images are wonderful. It’s amazing how large the lake is! Thank you for sharing.
Take care and best wishes.
What a fascinating post!

Beautiful views captured.
Shipwrecks, fires, and a cedar waxwing? Sounds like a plot for a nautical thriller. Great shots!
Nice picture, I especially like the lighthouse.
All the best

I also associate the Duluth area with winter searches for northern owls, but there is much more obviously.
Views of the water are the best. It looks like you enjoyed your time there.
Wonderful mood in each scene.
I love that view from your hotel room, with the purple sunrise!
Duluth is such a magical town. I can’t believe you got a photo of a Cedar Waxwing. They come to my yard once a year to eat the berries off a certain tree. I wish they came around more often.
