Fishing on Dominicalito: 2025

Dominicalito is damn near paradise!

It’s hard to find unexplored turf on Dominicalito Beach. I’ve explored it thoroughly with my lens and feet and posted my souvenirs here. Dominicalito is a serious fishing beach. A newcomer might walk by the dilapidated boats and reminisce about their glory days when the vessels carried nocturnal fishermen who returned with boatloads of fish at dawn. They may not look seaworthy, but they are, and they ply the surf every day.

Beyond the boats, the brown sand is not the coveted white variety, but to me, it’s perfect because it’s slurpy and soft, yet firm, and absurdly wide, and flat. It’s a beach walkers paradise. There aren’t many people, but you won’t be alone, with so many lizards, vultures, and shore birds underfoot. And then there’s the view. Sigh.

The end. Until next year!

See you next week!

  2. What beautiful pictures of the beach and the fishing boats.
The heron and the buzzard are also beautiful.
    Greetings Irma

  3. Oh wow, that is really beautiful. The ocean, the beach, and immediately the forest going up into the hills.
The beach does look a nice one to walk on. The beaches at Orange Beach, Alabama are the classic white and they are okay, but I prefer the muddier brown beaches of Texas at Galveston and Padre Island because they are firmer and one can walk for miles!!

  4. Very, very nice pictures. I always like exploring places that are working – rather than just for tourist display. And this beach looks like such a place.

Cheers – Stewart M – just back from Europe!

  5. Beautiful photos of the wildlife. Reminds me a little of the Pacific side of Panama, S.A. I always loved walking the beaches to see what I could find. Love the photos of boats that have see better days and probably have a few interesting stories to tell.
