Hurricane Milton is hurtling toward Florida on the heels of Hurricane Helene. Sigh. I haven’t liked the name Milton since my childhood friend, Milton something or other, told me to shake hands with his Saint Bernard, who quickly mauled me and left me bleeding from head to toe. Milton’s parents tossed me in their car and rushed me home. I was fine except for ten stitches and multiple lacerations. But I was lucky not to lose an eye. I remember my hands completely covered in blood.
Hurricane Milton will most likely do something similar to Florida. We rescheduled our flight to Fort Myers this week en route to our winter home in Naples. The cats caught a brief reprieve from travel stress, and at least we’re safe in Minnesota. I’ll post my favorite Florida photos over the next three weeks. I’ve done this before after a hurricane hit my beloved stomping grounds.
Follow my lens…
Stay tuned for more Florida highs and lows, because some of my photos will show hurricane damage (like the Pier photo). The posts wouldn’t paint the real picture without destruction.

Another hurricane. Scary, hurricane season has become.
Gorgeous photos. Love your header.
I’m keeping everyone in my prayers with this monster storm on it’s way! Take care and I’m glad you are waiting to come down! Hugs, Diane
I’m right there with you on this , just substitute “Oregon” for Minnesota” and everything else is about the same only you express it better ! Thanks for the Florida memories and here’s hoping we can both make some more.
Hello,
Love your photos, pretty heron and hawk images. Love the sunset and the cute lizard.
I hope everyone stays safe who are in the path of the hurricane.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great day and happy week ahead.
The story about the dog is not good – what is your relationship like with large hounds like these days?
The hurricane situation is not good either – lets all hope that the season does not bring a third.
To counter all this, your pictures are great!

Wow, what a story about the name Milton!
Glad you’re safe in Minnesota.
Looking forward to your Florida photos, even the ones showing the hurricane damage.
Glad you are safe. Your favorite photos are beauties!
Amazing colours.
Milton seems like a week name for a Hurricane, and I completely understand why you’d dislike it. What a traumatic thing to happen.
I like that first photo from the plane. I have a few like it (not of FL)!
I am glad you are safe. I hope your home is also.
