Flying to Moab

From Minnesota to Moab!

Enroute to Phoenix. My husband is signing his love for Moab, and quite possibly, me. 🙂

I took so many photos of our flights to Moab that I thought I’d kick off the next three weeks of Utah posts with a bird’s eye view of my trajectory. Most folks fly with the window blind closed to see their devices better. But I’m usually reading a book or writing my next novel, taking quick peeks out the window to see what’s below me. Between chapters of Weyward by Emila Hart, the witchy novel I’m reading, and Chorus of Crows, the cozy horror story I’m writing, I snapped mediocre photos. But the views were awe-inspiring as we closed in on Moab’s Red Rock Canyons. Follow my lens…

The Red Rock Canyons between Phoenix and Moab, Utah. It looked like The Grand Canyon for almost an hour.

I think Monument Valley appears in the upper left of this image.

This view was amazing! Canyonlands.

Click the photo to visit Mosaic Monday. The Moab airport was so small we deplaned on the runway and picked up our bags at the triangular slab behind my husband. Last time, we drove the desolate highway from Salt Lake City to Moab. Flying was easier on the eyes!

Stay tuned for red rocks!

  1. The pics are totally gorgeous, we like Moab too, a lot!! AND not least important, this post makes me smile to know that I’m not the only person in the world who still gets a little thrill out of taking pictures from the plane! Happy to know that the most-traveled person I “know” enjoys it too.

  2. I used to live in Price, UT on the desolate highway from Salt Lake City to Moab. I love that part of Utah, really beautiful place. When I was a kid Moab was a dusty uranium mining town and now it’s an all growns up tourist town.

  3. Beautiful, clear photos of an incredible landscape! Seems like whenever I try to take window seat shots, the window is all scratchy and dirty and the sun is at the wrong angle (oh, and the wing gets in the way). It’s tricky business!

  4. Love seeing all these wonderful canyon photos over AZ and UT! I take photos from plane windows when I can, but haven’t had this opportunity. Thanks a bunch!
