Last spring, we stayed in a highrise overlooking a sprawling cemetery in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Allergies offended me more than the dead on that trip. It turns out the wide Sargasso Sea is offensive to me! I liked the book, however.
Luquillo sits at the base of the El Yunque National Forest. My favorite memory was a brief walk before we departed the island along a quiet, picturesque beach lined with palms and skirting a bed of coral. Two locals were frolicking in the shallow turquoise waters. It was only ten a.m., but the beer bottles were already accumulating on shore.
The cemeteries were festive jungle resting places. We’re always respectful. But I can’t resist taking photos. Follow our feet around Luquillo…
I was happy to read last week that there is a new direct flight to Puerto Rico from RSW airport!
This is my favorite blurb! My spooky Halloween newsletter hits inboxes today. What do you say? Sign up and win a treat! It’s no trick.
Great scenes and photos from Puerto Rico. The murals and fun and colorful. Cute capture of the crab.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great week!
Those murals are nice and bright.
Full of vibrant colors!

Beautiful captures!
Your trip had its ups and downs, but the photographs are marvelous! I really liked the Laughing gull, grackle, and, of course, the murals.
Great shots.
Love all the bright, cheery murals. Quite a contrast with the cemeteries!
Great shots.
I really liked the image with the coconut tree. The artist must have used tile as art medium. Looks like you enjoyed that sandwich and fries at a sea shore restaurant. What a view! Enjoyed following your footprints around Puerto Rico.
