Sentinel Peak

The desert is full of surprises, some as subtle as a cactus flower, some explosive like the sun.

Historic Sentinel Peak in Tucson, Arizona, is a must-see loop. Native Americans used the 2,900-foot peak as a lookout, and we certainly enjoyed the view, too. I love the stark, rugged beauty of Tucson. The night we arrived, the sunset glowed bright orange behind the jagged blue-black mountains, welcoming us with heartwarming drama. The desert is full of surprises, some as subtle as a cactus flower, some explosive like the sun.

  2. I think you captured the essence of Tucson. (I’ve never been even though we lived for years in Arizona as a kid.) I love the saguaros and the birds you captured in silhouette.

  3. What a great view you have there.
The cacti are great to see, we don’t see this here in the Netherlands.
    Greetings Irma

  4. It’s been many years since I’ve been to Tucson and it was only an overnight stay to visit relative of my husband. I missed seeing al that beauty. Your photos are beautiful. My favorite was the silhouette of the bird. Alana ramblinwitham
