The Key to Happiness

Check out my new palm tree key.

A charming bridge at Crew Trails.

Did you see my new key in the lead shot? Finally, thanks to Lowes, I have a key to match my life! Sometimes, Florida is the key to happiness. It’s sunny and warm, and there’s always a salty smell, along with the glinty squawks of blackbirds. Palm trees sway, and mockingbirds sing new playlists at lightning speed.

Pools and walking trails beckon.

At other times, especially during the high tourist season, like when you get yelled at for not leaving your parking spot fast enough, it’s annoying. Crowds, dangerous drivers, long lines, and packed parking lots abound.

But it’s home. Follow my feet…

A happy accident.

When we biked at Shark Valley last fall, crows stole this book from my bag and tore it to shreds. (I caught them in the act) They must have figured they’d hit something edible if they kept at it long enough. It’s ironic since this is Fahrenheit 451, a book about book burning.

Ah, sunset. You see, Florida isn’t so bad!

  2. Key to happiness found! (Though, I’m hoping it unlocks a secret beach and not just the garage.) I love the way you capture both the good and the not-so-good of Florida life! And that sunset photo is gorgeous.
