You can spend hours meandering the 50 acres inhabiting the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and I’d encourage any visitor to investigate online to learn more about the history. It’s the former home of Tycoon James Deering, who earned his fortune through McCormick and International Harvester. The estate’s name refers to the northern Spanish province Biscay, “Vizcaya,” in the Basque region along the east Atlantic’s Bay of Biscay, as the estate is on the west Atlantic’s Biscayne Bay.
The estate and gardens are tropically elegant—breathtaking really—and not to be missed during your stay in Miami. Even though many people milled about, I snapped as many photos as possible. The grandeur spellbound me. Follow my feet…
Visit Mosaic Monday.
Wow!
Wow! How elegant and beautiful!
Thanks you for sharing with us this week at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2024/11/avoca-mill.html
Wow, that’s quite the estate.
Marvelous art and artefacts.
That’s a lot of stuff to pack into a house and garden – even if its a big house and garden!

I would never have picked this as in Miami!! #TravelTuesday
Another wonderful contribution for MosaicMonday. Thank you so much for your participation.
…Interesting! And very nice that the public can participate in this possession. Despite all my admiration, I still wouldn’t want to live there.
Greetings from Heidrun
