Castillo San Felipe del Morro

Follow my feet around a 500 year old Fort in Old San Juan...

Puerto Rico means prosperous port, which made it irresistible to pirates. Plus, you needed to pass by the El Morro Fortress to reach the new world. Five hundred years ago, the Spanish Fort began with one cannon and ended with the intimidating six-story Fortress you see today. But things transformed when the interlopers could fly over by air. The island changed hands to the United States. The Fort is a fascinating and beautiful place to stroll. Follow my feet…

  1. Hello Sharon,
Wonderful photos of the fort and the lighthouse. Love iguanas guarding the windows, I have a similar photo at the same spot. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a wonderful week!

  2. I love old forts, especially on the coast. Used to be such a big deal and then became obsolete except for those of us who like to explore them.
