Red rocks burning at the base of the La Sal mountains.
You don’t have to be a rock climber to view the roadside petroglyphs. They are accessible to everyone, even though most people really are rock climbing in the area. I can’t wait to show you what happens if you continue down this river road in Moab, Utah. But for today, follow my tires and enjoy more ancient rock art!
Do you see the glyphs? Desert varnish abounds.
I love this hand.
Desert petroglyphs inspired my book cover. Energy, vortices, space portals, and aliens! Oh, my. Click on the image to visit Mosaic Monday.
Another long row of solidarity.
Stay tuned for more from Moab!
I was in Moab just last week! Such an beautiful place. Wonderful photos!!

What a great looking place – and one I have wished to visit for many years. With the exception of the snow, the colours, shapes and rock art remind me of Central Australia.

Impressive !

I love southern Utah. Your photos make me want to return!!
These are wonderful. So ancient and mysterious! The desert varnish on the red rocks makes for an ideal petroglyph location.
stunning shots, love the first one most
I’ve never been to Moab but I do love petroglyphs. The hand is my favorite one.
I haven’t been to Utah in many years (close to 45, I believe). I’ve seen petroglyphs once, at Petroglyphs Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, and that was many years ago, too. Yours are fantastic. Alana ramblinwitham
