Many of you have heard me sing the praises of Dominicalito Beach during my time in Dominical. But did you know that Dominicalito Beach isn’t in Dominical? Dominical has its own beach, a stone’s throw away from Dominicalito as the pelican flies. My best memory is pulling up in our vehicle with a take-out lunch and rum cake for dessert. We turn on local Spanish tunes and eat while watching world-class surfers ply the warm waters. Behind the beach is a local hangout for scarlet macaws. I don’t know what macaws eat, but the fruit or nuts in the jungle canopy are plentiful in Dominical. Every local beach has cool streams that meander across the sand and into the ocean. I love to cross them with my bare, arthritic feet. But it’s the tide pools where I can really cool off and relax. Follow my feet as I highlight five Costa Rica beaches over the next three weeks…
What does the macaw hold in it’s grip?
The tide brought wood and bottle debris on this day.
What do we have here? Horse feet.
Horse play.
Sunset on Dominical Beach. In eight months we’ll return…
Lovely images from the beach and Costa Rica. I would love to see the Scarlet Macaw in the wild. Great sighting. The beach and sunset is beautiful. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post.
Take care, have a wonderful week!
That sunset is so beautiful
Gorgeous captures. Want to go for a dip in the sea and loll on the sands!
Beautiful beach.
Love the local vibe. Such an epic sunset!
Oh Sharon such gorgeous images! Thanks for sharing at https://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2024/05/last-stop-at-library.html
So stunning — The beach is wonderful, and I’d love to see a macaw in the wild. Amazing place.
Another round of MosaicMonday in beautiful May… and I am very happy about your contribution. More pictures this week that show your surroundings, nature, something of your everyday life. Pictures that also tell a bit of history, it`s very interesting.
Thank you for your participation. Have a good time, best wishes from Heidrun
love the idyllic beaches
You brought lovely beach photos and memories with you, dear Sharon. (The only thing I don’t like are the bottle finds at the stand…)
I’m not sure what THIS macaw eats, but the macaws we saw preferred eating almonds – and with their strong beaks they can crack the shells well. The iguana is also beautiful!
All the best, Traude

What a wonderful range of light. Great looking place – shame about the rubbish / trash.

Wow, what a beautiful beach. And your description of cool streams flowing across the beach into the ocean sounds wonderful.
