Duluth: iphone

Rain, rain, go away. We'll be back in September for another Duluth stay.

Leif Erikson Park.

Fourth of July weekend means Duluth, Minnesota. We can see the fireworks from our room, which is a fun bonus, so we always utilize points to stay at the Holiday Inn with a view of the harbor. Rain and bruised ribs (me) made sightseeing tricky, but we accomplished almost everything, even something new. But we didn’t bike the Gitchi Gami, climb to the overlook at Split Rock Lighthouse, or enjoy the purple lupine. Still, we had fun. Follow our wheels…

Bread warning = funny. Click for Mosaic Monday.

I wasn’t sure if I could bike with my injury, but we enjoyed another scenic ride on the Willard Munger bike trail, and across the St. Louis River.

Do you see the Viking Cruise Ship in the upper right? We watched it slink under the iconic lift bridge at sunrise, along with many other ships, too.

We had a Rear Window situation during our stay, except the perp was uncomfortably close, and he didn’t need binoculars to spy on our every move. The peeping stalker, and serial killer spun a web of mayhem from the 16th floor. Drama ensued.

Stay tuned for my camera edition next week!

Last year, we hiked to the Split Rock summit and I snapped a photo with the ARC copy of my book!

  1. Dear Sharon, the bread warning is really funny – have you tried it? Less funny is that you have bruised ribs. I hope they don’t hurt you too much anymore. Duluth looks very attractive (except for the spider). My favorite photo is the bridge with the shadow. And what is that beautiful, strange white flower that looks like it has little buds inside?
All the best and a good start to the new week, Traude
