To experience Antelope Canyon, you must shuffle into a shop, then wait around for a bit, board a bus, sit jam-packed against sweaty travelers, and drive onto the Rez. You might wonder if your bus will get stuck in soft sand on your rough approach in the middle of nowhere. I only had one bottle of water, and I wondered how far I’d get in the scorching heat. We didn’t get stuck and parked in a long line of other buses before a boring mesa with one dark crease as if the desert might split apart with sand flying everywhere. Well, we knew the inside of that crack was spectacular, so we disembarked, only to have to wait for a dozen other groups of tourists to filter through the slot. Somehow, the Native American guides time it so you can take photos unimpeded by human interlopers, even though there must be 100 people in the slot canyon at any given time. And it isn’t that long! It is certainly narrow. And most certainly, absolutely, and stupidly awe inspiring. Follow my lens…

Wow! You’ll find Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona. Be prepared to hike a short and sizzling distance back to your bus. Stay tuned for my camera photos next week.

I can finally post a Christmas promo!

The pictures seem surreal, or rather, they remind me of abstract art. It must be breathtaking to walk there in the Antelope Canyon. Only wow… and wow again.
