I love Duluth, with its windswept views of Lake Superior, crumbling black basalt rock shores, and old architecture. Itโs almost always chilly, but this trip, it was cold, foggy, and damp. I barely saw the iconic Liftbridge through the gloom.
We also love four or five scenic picnic spots to enjoy takeout meals, including Sammyโs Pizza, Burrito Union, Hippie Tacos, OMC Smokehouse, and Bali Thai. Still, every picnic was damp, cold, and miserable. Sigh.
But we still had a wee bit of fun. The highlights were my husbandโs inline race and the premiere of the final Downton Abbey movie, accompanied by delicious popcorn. The movie wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was fun to see the cast again, and the storyline was charming. Here are my meager photosโฆ

Cheers from Enger Tower!

My husband finished his 26th Inline Marathon with a solid time of one hour and twenty minutes to roll over twenty-six miles!

When I post about Duluth, I always use my Up-North book promo taken from the top of the rock near Split Rock Lighthouse, back when my book was just an Advanced Reader Copy. Now it’s available worldwide!

Some great scenery.
The blooms and views look stunning! Big cheers to your husband, impressive stuff!
