Horseshoe Bend +

Bend it like a boat...

The path leading to the Horseshoe Bend overlook is hot. Don’t try it if it’s 100 degrees. You’ll die.

If you’re looking for surreal and stunning photos, check out my Antelope Slot Canyon photos a couple of posts back. They are the best ever! But if you want to get on and off my website in a flash, look here at my brief, possibly redundant photos of Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell from our visit to sizzling Page, Arizona.

Campers at the bottom of the canyon.

I love this photo. The speeding boat adds interest and movement. But the morning light wasn’t great for photography and it’s washed out.

You can get a great view of the dam at the Visitor’s Center. It’s worth a stop.

Lake Powell wasn’t as beautiful as I expected. My favorite views of Lake Powell and the bleached rock environs were from our rental. Still, Page is well worth the trip to see Antelope Slot Canyon and other hikes. Mosaic Monday.

  2. Great photos. Horseshoe Bend is on my bucket list.
I’m so old I remember the river before the Glen Canyon Dam. After the dam was built your could ride elevators down to the powerhouse down below. That was interesting. I think I still have one of dad’s photos from that tour. That was stopped decades ago.
