Puerto Rico: 2023

You know you’re not in Kansas anymore when someone is machine sharpening butcher knives for two hours after dark on the balcony of their ocean side condo. Weird!

Day 1

Old San Juan.

Puerto Rico has been pummeled by recent hurricanes and it shows. But we love to stroll around peeling and crumbling urban architecture with a camera in hand. The ocean is turquoise, and the air is warm. The castle forts that surround old San Juan add a layer of history and intrigue, and the food is fried. Mofongo is as ubiquitous as alley cats!

  1. Beautiful sunset! Great shots of the iguana and the baby pigeon. The mural is colorful.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a wonderful week!

  2. Your attention to detail is impressive! From the unusual act of sharpening knives for 2 hours, to the weenie waffles, a baby pigeon, an iguana striking a model-like pose, and a two-faced guy in the mural reminding you to take your trash, you picked up on some really weird but interesting things. Love the sunset too.

  3. Wonderful set of pictures. Loved the way you used the ‘head hole’ thing to get a much better picture.

  4. What a great collection of photos Sharon. Puerto Rico looks fascinating, from the ‘well I never waffles’ to the blue seas and super sunsets. I have enjoyed my wander with you.
