The Bird’s Eye Trail

“Here, silence isn’t empty — it’s full of whispers from the wind weaving through the hoodoos, telling stories a million years old." ~ NatureSpeaks

We should have stayed longer near Bryce Canyon. My husband spends a lot of painstaking work investigating lodgings and locations, and normally, we get things right. But not this trip. We stayed too long in Kanab and too little in Hatch. This trip wasn’t our first visit, and I know we’ll see it again, but I still felt a sense of withdrawal when we left. It’s just so darn beautiful, with its supersized ravens, sweeping vistas, hellfire hoodoos, and painted rock ruins. Arches will always be my favorite Utah park, but Bryce is the most breathtaking. The Bird’s Eye Trail is a gem on the outskirts of the park. What joy I felt on this trail. Follow my feet…

I love this photo.

The Bird’s Eye. Stay tuned for more from Bryce Canyon National Park!

  1. I know that feeling of wanting to linger a little longer in a place that captures your heart. Against the sun, the hoodoo becomes less rock and more legend. Absolutely my favorite!

  2. I have been to Bryce a few times and it never ceases to amaze. A stunning place with gorgeous views! Thank you for linking up and have the very best weekend.

  3. I wondered why I got a prompt when I opened your post to translate from Russian to English. I got to the comments and found out why.

I love your photos. I love pine trees on red rock and the canyons and all of it.

  4. That’s one place I wouldn’t have minded going as a child. We took vacations every summer, but mostly headed into Canada, or once Wyoming and Montana.
