I took one sip of the tangy, mineral-laced liquid from a small dixie cup and immediately felt older. “Cheers!” I said, gulping the water down, realizing my weariness was most likely due to the previous night’s martini.
Elixir of youth or harbinger of wrinkles, no matter. The Fountain of Youth tourist trap in St. Augustine, Florida, is educational and fun. Who among you wouldn’t enjoy a warm climate with exotic peacocks and palm trees like a modern-day Garden of Eden? Follow my feet through these photos, and I think you’ll agree there’s something for everyone—except peacocks; I’m saving most of them for next week!

Hello Sharon,
What a pretty place to visit. A drink from the fountain of youth should make you feel younger not older.
I guess it is not a magical drink after all. Great photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post.
Have a wonderful week!
That looks like a lovely place. Although, I don’t think I’d want to partake of the waters.
I have that Gardenia jasminoides plant in my garden. Its flowers have the most awesome fragrance. Clever deer hunters. The weather looks very familiar.
You picked a glorious day to visit. Such a gorgeous blue!
Sounds like the elixir isn’t working, but what a fun and interesting place to visit! Thx for taking us along.
I remember learning about de Leon when young and being so excited. Now? Not so much considering all the tragedy he and others brought. But it is nice to see the places that it happened and some history. Wonderful photos.
Hey, even tourist traps have something to offer! Right?
Interesting find.
