Hacienda Orosi Hot Springs

Calgon, take me away! I bet the Ad Executives behind that memorable commercial had Hacienda Orosi in mind when they created the old slogan.

Calgon, take me away! I bet the Ad Executives behind that memorable commercial had Hacienda Orosi in mind when they created the old slogan. In January, high elevation Orosi, Costa Rica, is cool and crisp, so the mineral hot springs feel like a delicious cup of cocoa savored near grandma’s hearth—at Christmas. Yes, it feels that good. The volcanic heat levels range from tepid to wild (wild is fitting because we experienced our first earthquake here), with nary a bad view in sight. The town of Orosi occupies a stunning corner of Costa Rica near San Jose. We explored it two years ago, and I’m finally sharing it now.

Follow my feet…

First, there’s a farm to explore.

But the hot springs are the real draw. Bubbles not included. That’s me!

Sure hope all your Florida family and friends are OK after the unwelcome visit from Ian. You are certainly right that your Flovember will not be the same, at least for a while. Ours either.. We have our fingers crossed for full recovery of all our favorite places (and our house ).
