Flovember: Week 5

I’ve returned to sad, bleak, and bitter coldness, and I’m talking about my heart.
Day 31

I’ve returned to sad, bleak, and bitter coldness, and I’m talking about my heart. Indeed, the weather is not to my liking now, back in Minnesota. But maybe I am a wee bit melodramatic and grinch-like about the ole Minneapple.

Last month, I learned Marco Island is a fine substitute for Fort Myers Beach and my beloved Lover’s Key. Although, instead of a thousand ospreys, I only had one burrowing owl. Instead of many beaches and several trails, I only had one beach. I’m not sure why they call the beach Tigertail because the sand has more of an arctic fox quality, in my opinion. It was a good beach, but beaches are like pizza; even bad ones are good. Plus, my husband found an enormous seashell!

In other news, the middle seat was open on the flight home, so Santa gave us an early gift.

The next stop is Costa Rica. 😊 Hooray!

  1. Hello,
I loved seeing the Burrowing Owls in Florida. Great shot of the Cormorant. I am not a fan of winter, living in Florida or Costa Rica would be wonderful. Great series of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great week!

  2. Amazing photos all! I was drawn in by your sunset photo, but I truly can’t choose favorite. I had to laugh about beaches being like pizza. I couldn’t agree more.

  3. I’m smiling at your joy of the open middle seat because today we try our usual travel hack to book a window and an aisle seat on Virgin Australia, only to find a full flight and a prize-winning competition for those sitting in the middle seats. Obviously, we fess up & I ended up swapping into the middle seat … I bet he wins the competition sitting in my window seat!!
Enjoy the warmth of Costa Rica!
