Costa Rica: 2023

Day 1

We missed two days of heaven and gained two days of winter because of canceled flights. Plus, we needed to pivot and find new digs after our previous jungle cabana sold. Moving felt negative until we arrived and loved our new place even more!

Now that we’re here, things seem right with the world. Maybe that is because toucans mewl in the distance, rainbow-colored tanagers feed in the treetops, and howler monkeys howl. Or perhaps it is simply because in Costa Rica, we don’t watch the news! 😊

Day 5

This isn’t a normal grasshopper. We spied him from the pool deck, three stories below. This, my friends, is a Langosta grasshopper. They have claws and their wingspans can reach 18 inches. This one appeared to be the size of a robin.

Day 6

Dominicalito beach.

Day 8

Almond encrusted chicken with a mango salsa at Ballena Bistro.
