Paradise fail—one day of tummy turmoil.
Paradise win—the rest of the days were full of fun and sun!
We’re living one week ahead of this post, cleaning out the vacation fridge in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, soaking up the last fiery sunsets, and planning our final tide pool extravaganza. The last papaya was sliced and consumed. Sigh. It was overripe. Anxiously, we’re eyeing our suitcases and thinking about a dreadful day of airline travel. But thoughts of hugging our felines warm our winter-bound hearts.
Last week, we were still in Dominical. My favorite memory was picking up a Café Mono Congo chipotle chicken bowl, traveling down the dusty road toward the beach, and parking a stone’s throw from the epic surf. We’d crank up some local salsa-rap-reggae tunes and eat while watching the surfers hang ten. Then we’d enjoy my homemade rum cake for dessert. Heaven in a car.

I loved every moment (so far) of your vacation — well except for the rough start of course, and the rare tummy trouble.. (I scrolled back to catch up). Wonderful pictures — the sunsets are fabulous as are all your pictures. I had to google Domenical and felt like I should have known about it after I did. I’m not sure if your blog posts are more or less in real time or a ways behind. If the latter, I hope you didn’t freeze way up North there.
How did you manage to bend the horizon? I like the effect. The vulture silhouette shot is the winner this week.
