We arrived in Florida for the winter with little fanfare. The condo development sat silent, waiting for other snowbirds. But the ospreys chirped their approval in their melancholy way. All of the usual outdoor subjects were still here, like Muscovy ducks, anhingas, blue herons, and egrets. We have one alligator in our pond, and one limpkin calling for a friend. Sometimes, eagles and pelicans soar overhead or land in our wispy pines. That’s where a blue heron sleeps at night, and in the morning, it squawks away like it just got pinched on its backside. Sunset at Sugden.

Beautiful backyard bird!

While I was recovering from foot surgery last summer, I painted these wooden cutouts. They are now flanking my flat screen. They were a challenge, but I’m happy with them.

I was inspired by a post on instagram to create my own sea shell Flamingo art. I love it!

This guy crawled under our patio chairs.

I love this photo.

I had to post my flamingo promo!

Hello Sharon,
Love your Florida photos! There are times I wish I was a snowbird, I do not like the winter months
Your captures of the birds, frog and the gator are great photos. Your paintings look beautiful, well done. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.
Welcome home to Florida. I hope you have a nice winter.
Stunning wildlife photos, a beautiful sunset, and seriously cool art with the flamingo and wooden cutouts!

Oh, I wished we could be there in Florida!
Have a wonderful week. Have fun!
What great shots. I loved Florida. We were there in February one year and it was very hot. Beautiful place to spend the winter.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
The photos are beautiful. Have a wonderful winter. I wish I could still fly so we could spend some time in Florida/Caribbean. Our autumn and winter is usually mild and foggy. The colder weather comes early February.
Spending the winter in Florida sounds like the best idea. Enjoy and thank you for linking up!
It looks like everyone was glad to see you!!
Great pictures! And welcome back to Florida!
Wow, there are some great photos here! Glad you had a window seat so you could capture the first one.
Lots of great photos, however the frog is incredible!
