Florida: Spring 2026

My Florida season is waning, just like the moon...

Starfish on a gold star beach in Naples. Mosaic Monday.

Ibis in the hood. The naked branch below the bird used to sprout beautiful, puffy pine needles until a cable crew broke it off. I was livid.

Shark Valley

Turtles sunning outside our condo.

My orchid sprouted a rare conjoined bloom!

As Artemis circumnavigates above us, we’re not wondering about the moon’s bright side, but the mysterious dark side that will soon be revealed. The astronaunts are taking photos with a camera. Really? Is this 1970 or 2026?

My books arrived inside a mishmash of dented and bruised boxes. But they were okay.

“Get lost in the pages of your story.”

I savoured the perfect Dove Chocolate and matching message during my book event at Annette’s Book Nook.

I wore my Easter best and smiled until my teeth hurt at Books On Third, my last event of the season. Even though it doesn’t look busy in this photo, the store attracted a huge crowd because of the nearby Farmer’s Market. I couldn’t believe it, but people flooded into the store! A bookstore! I sold several books, but the real hit was my Dove Chocolate candy. Two kids wanted to take all they could carry, until their mother stopped them, wheedling them down to one each. Typically, my Naples bookmarks don’t get much attention, yet this time they were taken quickly—almost as swiftly as a seagull grabs bread. A few people commented on how much they like crows. I hope they feel the same way about my new spooky suspenseful book! But I actually sold more copies of The Levitation Game. When I recite my blurb, people almost always buy it. But all I need to sell Chorus of Crows is this book review

  5. Dear Sharon, you’re saying goodbye to your Florida season with atmospheric photos. I can completely understand why you’re livid about the branch incident – such careless treatment of nature always makes me angry and sad too. Congratulations on your successful book sales – and on the great review of Chorus of Crows!
    All the best from Austria,
